About Us
The purpose of Core is to glorify God through facilitating a Christ-centered environment for students to be transformed by the Holy Spirit. We are focused on impacting the Santa Clara campus through the gospel of grace. We desire to see students' lives become living testimonies of Jesus through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.

Casey Moore - Leadership Coordinator
Hello! I'm Casey Moore and I am Core's Leadership Coordinator this year.
This means I'm the point person to talk to about Core's purpose, mission, vision and involvement.
I'm a senior English major originally from Los Angeles and I love journalism, nerdy grammar jokes, hugs and prayer.
I attend South Bay Church in Santa Clara on Sundays; you are always welcome to tag along with me.
As the Leadership Team, we are passionate about pointing you to Christ.
He is the only One worth living and dying for, and the only One who saves and redeems us.
Love Him, follow Him, grow in Him and look to His cross.
That grace and truth are all we need.
Felix Rivera - Ministry Partners Team Leader
My name is Felix; I'm from Temecula in SoCal. I'm an Econ major, I love God, and I love His Church (I think that's why I got this Ministry Partners gig). I like music, reading, and hanging out with friends. As Ministry Partners coordinator I am responsible for facilitating communication and relationship between Core and her ministry partners. When not in class you can probably catch me wondering around or in my room at the A.O. house-feel free to stop by anytime-I hope to meet all the new faces and know the old faces better.
Joanne Santomauro - Events Team Leader
Hi there! I'm Joanne. I'm currently studying English, Spanish, and Philosophy. I'm from Seattle, a junior and will be leading Events this year! I'm your go-to girl for things like retreats, socials, and other events throughout the year. I like eating strange foods, traveling, and writing. Loving people is fun too! I like awkward jokes and drinking coffee. Seeing people in their "element" is my favorite thing to do - whether it's performing on stage, whistling to themselves, solving physics problems, or underwater basketweaving - seeing people do their thang is by far one of the greatest gifts we can receive. So if you want to lead an event, let me know! Jesus is a BOSS. I do not know where I'd be without Him. He has radically changed my life, for the ultimate good. Kenny Yen - Community Groups Team Leader & Finance Team Leader
Hi! My name is Kenny Yen and I am currently a Senior studying Accounting at Santa Clara University. I am from Fremont, CA which is approximately 20 minutes north of Santa Clara. My hobbies include doing accounting problems and playing basketball. I will be serving as Core's Community Group Team Leader and Finace Team Leader. Mark Rogers - Nightlife Team Leader
Hola! My name is Mark Rogers/Marky Mark/Mr. Rogers/whatever you want to call me. I'm a junior, Math major, who will be living in Loyola for the third year in a row. One of my life philosophies is to either be crazy and have as much fun as possible, or have a deep and meaningful conversation; I try to balance the two. I'm a little weird... okay really weird, but I'm okay with that :). I love screaming at sporting events, journaling, going berserk dancing, having spontaneous prayer sessions, random adventures late at night, and reading my Bible in the morning sunshine. Jesus is my hero; I want to make Him famous. My life goal is to love people, and I believe that only when I understand and accept the amazing love and grace of God am I truly empowered to love others.

Also I'm a computer engineering major and math minor (fun!).
I strongly LIKE a lot.
Growing closer to Christ, building strong friendships in fellowship communities like Core, church groups, etc!
I love laughing, mostly, music (anything and all, really!) and being loud, swimming in oceans, long neature walks, the Northwest--I'm from Whidbey Island, Washington--sarcasm, adding to my list of favorite things, a nice cup of tea in the mornings, poetry, being just plain weird, making a fool of myself and embarrassing those around me.
These are most important to me!
I also love tennis and ultimate frisbee and picnics and deep talks and adventuring.
My goal for this year is to introduce people to Christ in a positive, uplifting, loving way and connect all of us to a genuine community of strong friendships and fellowship.
