My name is Cole and I have been given the privilege of serving our Lord Jesus Christ by being a coordinator of Men's Small Groups for Core Christian Fellowship of this school year. I am a senior majoring in Electrical Engineering with a minor in math. I went to Homestead High School in Cupertino, CA. I currently attend San Jose Christian Alliance Church (SJCAC) in San Jose. I am currently volunteering with a high school ministry called Young Life - talk to me if you would like to help out too. Although I just love talking about myself, this is not the place. But if you want to know more about me, ask me in person.
Our Small Groups mostly include Bible Studies. It is divided up between guys (Alpha Omega) and girls (BeLoved) study. I encourage everyone to be plugged into a group because God's Word is what sets our paths straight (Psalm 1) and let us honor our Lord's commandment to "not give up meeting together. let us encourage one another" (Heb 10:25). I plead with you, fellow saints, to be open with each other in your small group to build each other up and cover each other's burdens (Gal 6:1-5, Rom 15:1).
As the men's small groups' coordinator this year, I hope to build all the sheep that God has given to me. I pray that God will grow you in Biblical doctrines and its application, growth in conforming to the image of Christ, developing a deeper relationship with God and each other, growing in the zeal of saving the lost, and developing biblical discernment. I’m Yasmin and I am serving as the Women’s Small Groups Coordinator for Core this year. I am responsible for ensuring that the women of Core are growing through bible studies and building meaningful, transparent relationships with one another through accountability groups. This year I am most excited about BeLoved, our newly founded women’s bible study group. Ladies, check out the BeLoved link for more info on what this group has to offer you! Another group at SCU is Wonderfully Made, a Christian ministry dedicated to helping women grow spiritually, emotionally and interpersonally while inspiring them to lead healthy, authentic, confident and Christ-centered lives.
As for me, I am a sophomore at SCU and a psychology major. I grew up in San Jose, but moved to the small town of Visalia, CA just as I was starting middle school. Now I am back in the Bay Area for college. When school starts, I will be living on campus in Walsh with my lovely roommate Katie (she is also in Core). I love singing, especially with the Core Worship team. I enjoy admiring God’s beautiful creation, laughing, drawing, shopping, riding roller coasters, and eating ice cream! While I'm in Santa Clara, I attend Camden Avenue Baptist Church with some of my dearest friends. Core has been a tremendous blessing for me and through Core I’ve met so many genuine people who share in my desire to live a godly life and be a true follower of Christ. Well, thanks for reading!
